May Goals Results

1. Have a smooth month for Flower Gift Korea: I had a pretty smooth month for Flower Gift Korea up until I realized that I would be moving to Canada some time within the next year, so that kind of messed some of my original plans. But life happens and you just have to keep moving on and find ways to adapt to what life throws at you.
2. Reach $20,000 in sales. We didn’t reach our sales goal, but it was still alright. The end of May was a little slow, but my wife and I needed it be a little slow so we could figure out what to do with Flower Gift Korea and our future as business owners in South Korea.
3. Continue my Weekly

Life Style Design in South Korea

There are some days when I am really busy working in my flower business and don’t have time to do anything, and that includes trying to further build the flower business as well. For example, for a stretch of 3-4 days when it was around Valentine’s Day, I literally was working in my flower business non-stop. I had no time to do anything else, and we even had 3 part time helpers at that time helping out. So is this really the lifestyle I want? To be so busy that I don’t even have time to eat at times and not even have the choice to get enough sleep?
Well, it’s not the ideal life, but I’m truly happy because I am in the designing stage, and not every single day is like that. And honestly, my wife and I would rather be super busy all the time, because we could

Random Thoughts: Delivering in Korea Part 1

If you order a box of chocolates at 7am from Flower Gift Korea today in Seoul, it is possible for that box of chocolates to get all the way to Busan the very next day. Google shows me that it is 325 kilometers from Seoul to Busan, which is quite a distance. Actually, that same box of chocolates can travel from one end of Korea to the other end of Korea by the very next day if you send out your order before 1pm. And it will roughly make it 99 out of 100 times within one day, as long as there aren’t holidays or Sundays included.
What’s so amazing about that? Other countries can ship packages 325 kilometers away the very next day as well. Well, they probably can, but how much does it cost?
Well, let’s just use the US as an example. From New York to Philadelphia, it is

EK005: Starting a Business – How It has Changed My Life

Subscribe to the podcast on: iTunes
In this episode, I talk about starting a business and how it has changed my life, and how you too can also be an entrepreneur or a business person.
I just finished taking a walk with my wife in the middle of the day, while not really losing any sales in my business, on a day that we are technically open and working. I obviously checked my phone to see if we received any enquiries or new orders, but my business was not affected. I love having a sustainable business that allows me to live a lifestyle I enjoy. It wasn’t easy to get to where I am at, and I still have much more to achieve, but I am totally enjoying the process.
As long as I have my phone and Internet, I can manage my business! And I think that’s awesome!
I have also grown so

1. Really figure out Amazon: I still haven’t uploaded any products to Amazon, but I am waiting to hear back from Amazon handmade, which is the section that allows for handmade objects to be sold on Amazon. I have applied and I should be hearing back within a few days. So Flower Gift Korea may or may not be accepted as a seller on the Amazon handmade platform.
2. Upload the maximum products I’m allowed on Ebay: I uploaded 5 more products to Ebay. They do get some views from potential buyers, but Ebay really isn’t my thing, but it’s something. And something is better than nothing, at least that’s what I believe.
3. Email every single past/present customer about changes made with

Do I Really Want to Further Build My Business?

I was able to create an English gyosoopso business that made a decent living. And it could have generated really good money if my wife and I were willing to sacrifice more hours and more work than we wanted to. And my Flower business is already making enough to sustain a living. It doesn’t mean I don’t have bills to pay and have things to pay off, but at this rate, things will be “okay”. And is this enough? I don’t know. I don’t think it is, but at times, deep down, it seems like it is okay.
I find that the hardest part for me as an entrepreneur/businessman in Korea is getting to the next level. I mean, the main problem I face is that, I’m just content with where I am at for the most part. I felt this way in my third and fourth year in my English

The Korean Dream

I remember travelling on the subway together with one of my co-teachers when I was a native English teacher working for a public school in the Gangnam school district. We were just talking about what we were going to do on the weekend. I told her that I was probably going to watch a movie and go to church with my girlfriend (current wife). Then I asked her what she was going to do. And she said that she would just probably stay home with the kids and go to mass (Catholic church). I asked her if her husband ever went with her and she told me that he didn’t because her husband was always too tired. She told me that her husband just sleeps at home or stays in and rests when possible. I was like, “really? why is he so tired?” And she said that he works too hard throughout
