So here is my review for the month of December, 2017

  • December Goals Results

1. Establish my trade business by registering it as a legal business and become part of some trade organizations in Korea: The good news is that I was able to register my trade business. It cost me nothing, except for the transportation fee to get myself to the tax office in Gangnam. So I am the owner of Smart Trade Korea. Congratulations to myself! I have made literally 0 won so far from this business, so there isn’t much to celebrate. But it is something. Unfortunately, I did not become part of some trade organizations yet. I plan on becoming a member of KOTRA and maybe a few others as there are some perks to becoming a member. Honestly, I put my trade business to the side as December was pretty busy for Flower Gift Korea.

2. Create a website, an Alibaba account, and accounts on other B2B platform websites: I have bought the domain name for but if you go to the actual URL, you’ll see that it is incomplete. I did change some of the info, but most of what you see is the demo version of the website template I purchased. So yeah, I got to get on that, but my mind has wandered somewhere else in the Flower industry. Yup, doing more than I should probably be doing and doing more than one thing, but that’s how I roll! Also, I have not created an Alibaba account or accounts on other B2B platform websites yet….I got to get on track fast! To be honest, I’m still a little lazy from the vacation I got back a few days ago….

3. Meet my supplier of goods and come to an agreement on prices for the goods: So, I met with my supplier of the flower type items I was thinking of exporting, but I realized that it’s not going to be as simple as I thought. He doesn’t have consistency with his items. But at least he has certain items that he can supply, so I will work with that for now. Also, I realized that there was another business idea I could take advantage of in the trade industry in Korea. I don’t have much to share about that yet as I haven’t fully thought it through, but I’ll keep you posted!

4. Reach $12,000 in sales. A little higher because of Christmas: The month of December was pretty good for us and the best thing with this month was most of the deliveries didn’t fall on one day like it does in February for Valentines day. So long story short, we beat our sales goal! Nice! It’s been awhile since we surpassed our goal. And since the flower market closed for January 1st and 2nd, we decided to take an extended vacation from December 31st to January 2nd! Yeah, it was a great month and we were thankful for all of the orders we got. And even more thankful that we didn’t need to hire too much outside help.

5. Add the picture product, stuffed toy products, and new flower designs to I was able to include some products to, but we scraped the picture product idea as we thought it would be too difficult to sustain as a product in our business.

6. Have everything prepared as in advance as possible: Materials for products, Pre-made cards, etc: We have pre-made a lot of cards and made some materials we use to create some of our products. We still have to do a bit more preparation work for Valentine’s Day as it is the busiest time of the year, but January tends to be a slow month for people in the flower industry, so we should have enough time to do all of the prep work.

  • Other December News

So December was mostly about Flower Gift Korea and trying to get my trade business off the ground. Most activity was pushed to the side to focus on Flower Gift Korea, and honestly, I guess I got a little lazy here and there. But I’m okay with being lazy here and there because I enjoy the process and I also enjoy spending time with my wife. December was good for Flower Gift Korea and also it was a good time to organize our receipts, sales, expenses, etc.

  • Other Businesses and Projects

My trade business is just being formed and I am starting a new project for Florists all over the world. It is a website project that I am going to make and it is going to help me network with florists worldwide. So right now, I’m leaning towards working on the Florist website, as it is a website I can slowly build and add content to while meeting florists worldwide. Why would I connect with florists worldwide? Well, whenever people need to send flowers to people in Korea, they either search on google or they ask a florist nearby for help. I want every florist in the world to know about Flower Gift Korea, so that’s one reason why I am going to make the website I am going to make. Also, the website can generate money one day for me in various ways. So making the new website is considered marketing work for Flower Gift Korea. Basically, I’ll be killing two birds with one stone, so yeah, looking forward to the new website!

  • Thoughts, Goals and The Big Picture for January 2018

January is most likely going to be a slow month for Flower Gift Korea. That means I will have more time to work on other projects. My priority right now is my new Florist website for florists worldwide. My main thing is to connect with florists worldwide and somehow have Flower Gift Korea on the radar of the flower industry worldwide. That is my goal, whenever someone thinks of flowers and Korea, I want them to automatically think of Flower Gift Korea. And maybe once I am able to get some of the website work done for the florist website, I can work on finishing the website for my trade business.

January 2018 Goals:

  1. Create my florist website and create 50 accounts for florists on it.
  2. Complete my trade website and create an Alibaba Account, and become a member of a trade organization in Korea.
  3. Catch up with all admin work for Flower Gift Korea (sales, expenses, etc.).
  4. Reach $10,000 in sales.
  5. Have everything prepared as in advance as possible for Valentines day.

I believe it will be easy to maintain Flower Gift Korea for January. Even though I am excited about my new projects, I must make sure the quality of Flower Gift Korea is not compromised. Flower Gift Korea is putting bread on the table, so I got to make sure that I take care of it! I hope you have an awesome month!
