Thoughts, Goals and The Big Picture for January 2018

So here is my review for the month of December, 2017

December Goals Results

1. Establish my trade business by registering it as a legal business and become part of some trade organizations in Korea: The good news is that I was able to register my trade business. It cost me nothing, except for the transportation fee to get myself to the tax office in Gangnam. So I am the owner of Smart Trade Korea. Congratulations to myself! I have made literally 0 won so far from this business, so there isn’t much to celebrate. But it is something. Unfortunately, I did not become part of some trade organizations yet. I plan on becoming a member of KOTRA and maybe a few others as there are some perks to becoming a member. Honestly, I put my trade business to

So here is my review for the month of November, 2017

November Goals Results

1. Improve my Korean by learning more advanced business vocabulary before I start my Trade academy course on November 20th: I probably studied pretty hard for like a week and then just did some studying here and there. The crazy thing was that I understood the Korean lectures a lot better than expected. My Korean is better than I thought, I guess that goes for all people when they think of their language skills. And like always, I always got ahead of myself and said that I would read such and such, when in fact I didn’t. Well, as they say, shoot for the moon and you’ll be amongst the stars.
2. Make a marketing campaign for Pepero Day (Blog post, front page of website, social

October Goals Results

1. Get ahead of my blog post schedule for Flower Gift Korea and Entrepreneur Korea (I’m currently behind): I get a big F for this goal. I didn’t get ahead in my blog posts, if anything, I got pushed even further behind. But for good reason, I was either relaxing or working extra hours to keep up with the orders we were receiving. But yah, I definitely should do more content creation for my websites/blogs.
2. Find more social media apps/streams to create accounts to build awareness for Flower Gift Korea: I was able to create new accounts on some new social media apps and I’m unsure if that is helping. One of them is a popular social media for people in Russia, one is Myspace, which

So here is my review for the month of September, 2017

September Goals Results

1. Continue to build my network: New networking efforts online and 2 or 3 networking events: I actually didn’t do much networking this month. However, I have interviewed a few people for the Entrepreneur Korea Podcast, which allowed me to meet some new people and connect with other entrepreneurs in Korea.
2. Create order/delivery checklists for Flower Gift Korea: I absolutely forgot that I was planning on doing this. Other things must have come up and I just put it on the back burner and didn’t get to it.
3. Upload new products to Flower Gift Korea and upgrade product photos: I only changed a few of the product photos, but most of the products I currently have don’t really need updating.
4. Reach $11,000 US in sales (Pass

So here is my review for the month of August, 2017

August Goals Results

1. Go to at least 3-4 networking events and hand out at least 50 Flower Gift Korea business cards to 50 different people before the end of the month: I was at a total of 3 networking events. One was held at the Seoul Global Startup Center and I was able to network with some people in Seoul. It was nice to go, but it wasn’t easy networking there since a lot of the people there weren’t really there to network, or maybe they were and just felt comfortable chatting to the same two people the whole networking time. But I still managed to meet close to 10 different people there and handed them my business card. The second event was a Seoul Real Estate

1. Really figure out Amazon: I still haven’t uploaded any products to Amazon, but I am waiting to hear back from Amazon handmade, which is the section that allows for handmade objects to be sold on Amazon. I have applied and I should be hearing back within a few days. So Flower Gift Korea may or may not be accepted as a seller on the Amazon handmade platform.
2. Upload the maximum products I’m allowed on Ebay: I uploaded 5 more products to Ebay. They do get some views from potential buyers, but Ebay really isn’t my thing, but it’s something. And something is better than nothing, at least that’s what I believe.
3. Email every single past/present customer about changes made with

Entrepreneur Korea Website Updated, Again…

So in last month’s summary, I shared how I used a free theme from Theme Forest for this website. However, I realized that the theme was very limited and didn’t allow me to design the site the way I wanted to. So I bought a theme instead. It’s this theme that the website uses, and I really like it. It’s simple and there are other functions I can use as I continue to build content and write about my journey.
It sure does pay to invest some money into a theme than just try to make do

So here is my review for the month of May, 2017. It is still quite simple, but hopefully I can improve it as I write it monthly.

Entrepreneur Korea Website Updated

I originally used an old theme for this website, which I bought a long time ago. However, the theme wasn’t great. One of the problems was that the feature image looked really blurry in the mobile website version. So I went to themeforest.net, which is a website that has everything you really need to build websites/blogs online. It is a site where you can buy themes, plugins, graphics, etc. I have used this website to purchase my theme for the Flower Gift Korea website and my Hagwonstart.com website. The theme

I thought it would be a good idea for me to review how well my month goes, so that I can come back and see how I do each month and try to to even better in the future.

Flower Business Sales Target $10,000 – Not Met

So as mentioned in other blog posts, February and March were great months because we did a lot better than expected. So I thought April was going to follow the trend. And for every month, I have a target goal of revenue I have to generate. I set my targets for March, April, and May in February. And I got a higher than expected amount of sales in February and March, but in April, I
